Motorola Defy has been unveiled today. Recall that Motorola had signed a partnership with a UK company, Bullitt Group. The company behind CAT and Land Rover-branded rugged phones. It was revealed that the purpose of the partnership is for them to make rugged phones for Motorola.
Now they have finally unveiled their first smartphone with Motorola dubbed Defy. The rear of the phone is made from a polycarbonate material and it spots a cross-hatching aesthetic. The camera module fuses seamlessly with the back which made it the best looking rugged phone so far.
Motorola Defy specs
The specs of the Motorola Defy include a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a waterdrop notch cut-out. The display is made from Gorilla Glass Victus which is durable. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor.
It has one storage option which is 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. There is also a micro SD card slot should you wish to extend the storage. At the rear, it has a triple camera setup. The main camera is a 48-mega pixel, there is a 2-mega pixel depth sensor and a 2-mega pixel macro sensor.
On the front, it has an 8-mega pixel selfie camera. The camera module includes a fingerprint scanner and an Led flash. What is keeping the light on is a 5000mAh battery capacity that supports 20W fast charging.
It runs on the Android 10 operating system out of the box with Motorola’s My UX skin. Motorola revealed that the device can withstand a 1.8meters drop, as long as it hit the ground on either side. The phone is also IP68 certified.
However, Motorola advised that you keep it away from any water that contains salt to avoid salt corrosion. The device can be used in +55°C to -25°C temperature. It can be cleaned with a sanitiser or soap. It will be up for grabs starting next week for €325.
