It is known for some time now that Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new tablet. The tablet is speculated to be called the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. As things are currently going, it seems like the launch of the tablet is inching closer.
The tablet just got certified by EEC which shows that it might be launching soon. Xu Jieyun of Xiaomi Group has previously said that they have optimized MIUI to fit with tablets. In his statement, he also confirmed that the Mi Pad 5 will run on MIUI out of the box.
Now the EEC certification of the Mi Pad 5 has also revealed that the tablet will be running on MIUI operating system. MIUI for tablet must have been properly optimised to give the users a befitting experience.
Some of the optimisations could include multi-screen collaboration. Although Xiaomi has not officially revealed the features of MIUI for tablet. We will learn more about that during the launch event. Speaking about the launch event, Xiaomi is yet to reveal that.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 specs
Like we mentioned earlier, the Mi Pad 5 has been surfacing on the web for some time now. So some of its specifications have been leaked so far. It will come with an OLED or IPS LCD screen. The resolution is 2560 x 1600 pixels.
The tablet features a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It will also feature 4096-level touch and In-Cell active pen technology, all to improve the viewing experience. There have been reports that it will come with a pro variant.
What will be fuelling the pro variant is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. It will also offer 5G technology for faster and smoother web surfing. The pro variant is said to come with a dual battery, each having a capacity of 4,260mAh.
In total, it will come with an 8,720mAh battery capacity. The standard Mi Pad 5 will come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset and also offer 5G connectivity. For security purposes, they will arrive with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
