Tecno Camon 17 series to be launched in Kenya next week with Mediatek G95

The latest report we received is that Tecno Camon 17 series will be launching in Kenya on April 19th, which is next week Monday. A tipster on Twitter by the name @Maii_HD has revealed that Tecno will be launching the Camon 17 series in Kenya very soon.

He posted the marketing image of the Camon 17 series for the Kenyan market. The image revealed the key details of the device as well as the launching offer. As per the image, anyone who pre-orders the Camon 17 series with Ksh 2000 from 19th of April to 29th will get a smartwatch and a water bottle for free.

The image further reveals that the smartphone, which is the premier version will come with a 6.8inch Full HD+ display and a 90Hz refresh rate. It will also come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The chipset that will be powering the device is a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset.

Camon 17 Premier will have a 48MP selfie camera that can record videos in 4k. It will have a dual led flash on the front. The rear of the smartphone houses quad sensors with the main camera being a 64MP with quad flash. Tecno Camon 17 Premier will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a centred punch-hole display.

For the standard Camon 17, we have previously seen the smartphone listed on google play console and FCC which reveals the key specs. Google Play Console revealed that the standard Camon 17 will have an upper left corner punch-hole display, a house for the selfie camera. The device also appears to have quite a little bit of chin and bezels.

The device has been revealed to come with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It will also have a pixel per inch density of 320. The listing revealed that it will be powered by the Mediatek Helio G70 chipset which is the same chipset in the last year’s model. But this time, it will be running on the latest Android 11 operating system with Tecno’s HIOS skin.

As per FCC certification, we know that the standard Camon 17 will come with a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It will have 6GB RAM and measures 165 x 76 x 8mm in size. The tipster revealed that the Tecno Camon 17 series will be heading to Nigeria and India after the Kenyan launch.
