Samsung announced four new smartphones yesterday which includes the A13 4G, A23 4G, M33, and the M23. Today, we noticed that another model will be joining them soon. The phone is the Galaxy A33.
The specs of the device have leaked as well as its expected price in Europe. Starting with the display, the phone may come with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will also have an under-display fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the phone is said to come with an unofficial Exynos 1280, which is reportedly powering the A53. This is unclear and should be taken with a pinch of salt because we don’t understand how Samsung will match the chipset with the midrange A53.
Maybe the A33 will arrive in different regions with different chipsets, likely Exynos 1200 for different regions but it is still unclear. The Exynos 1280 uses the 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores.
The previous report said that the chipset will perform worse than the Exynos 1080 but we don’t know yet. Further, the phone will have an 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant. There could 6GB RAM variant for certain markets.
It will boot the Android 12 operating system with OneUI 4.1 on top. For the cameras, the phone will sport the same camera as the Galaxy A32 5G. That is a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. The front will be 13MP for selfies and video calls.
For the battery, it may have a 5000mAh battery capacity that supports 25W charging speed. Although it may come with a 15W charger out of the box. As per the previous report, the A33 and the A53 will only be available in 5G versions this year, no 4G.
Samsung added water-resistant to its mid-range phone last year which is the A52 and it’s surprising as it’s mostly left for flagships or upper mid-rangers. With this report, Samsung is even going crazier offering the A33 with IP67 water-resistant.
This could be the first budget phone with water-resistant. The weighs 186g and measure 159.7 x 74 x 8.1 mm. This phone is said to be ditching the headphone jack. It will be available in black, white, blue, and peach.
The Samsung Galaxy A33 could be sold in Europe for €369 and that’s for the 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM option.
