According to the Korea Herald, Samsung will announce three foldable devices – the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the affordable Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite on August 11. The publication claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite is a mass-market model with a more affordable price tag. Back in December, we had seen a report by ET News that mentioned that Samsung is planning to introduce the four foldable smartphones in 2021. The publication mentioned in its report that Samsung has plans to launch two Galaxy Z Flip smartphones with different performance and features in 2021.
Past rumours however had suggested that Samsung has cancelled the plans of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite launch. The display analyst Ross Young claimed last week that Samsung has cancelled the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite model due to the ongoing chip shortage. However, as of now, it isn’t known accurately if we will get to see the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite model at Samsung’s next month Unpacked event. Considering that we are seeing diverse information about the Galaxy Z Flip 3, we recommend you to take all the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite details with a pinch of salt, and wait for next month to see if we are getting an affordable foldable phone from Samsung.

Under the hood, the handset might come powered with Snapdragon 888 SoC. The phone is likely to launch in 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. On the software side of things, the handset no doubt will run Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 out of the box. For imaging purposes, the device is tipped to feature a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup, while for selfies the phone could sport a 10MP camera.
