The Realme 8 5G has finally arrived in India today (April 22, 2021). It made its first appearance in Thailand yesterday and yes, it is the same one that is launched in Thailand yesterday that arrived in India today. Its debut in Thailand made the specifications public already but let’s take a look at the pricing in India first.
Realme 8 5G price in India and availability
The Realme 8 5G is priced at ₹14,999 ($200) for the 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant. The 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant is priced at ₹16,999 ($227).
The first sale of the phone is scheduled for April 28 at 12 PM. It will be available for purchase on Realme’s online store and Flipkart. You can get it in two colours which are Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black.
Realme 8 5G Specifications and features
The Realme 8 5G comes with a rectangular camera module at the rear which houses triple camera sensors. On the front, it has a punch-hole cut-out housing the selfie camera. The display of the smartphone is a 6.5inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It also has a 90Hz refresh rate and 600 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood, it is fuelled by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC. The chipset uses an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and it is a 7nm chipset. Graphics or gaming is handled by the capable Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The Realme 8 5G is running on the Android 11 operating system. It comes in different storage configurations which are 64GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 4GB RAM, 128GB 6GB RAM, and 128GB 8GB RAM. There is a micro SD card slot for storage expansion. Going to the rear, the smartphone is boasting of a triple camera. The main sensor is 48MP, there is a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro.
Realme 8 5G also has a single led flash at the rear and it can record in 1080p@30fps maximum. Upfront, the device has a single camera. The sensor is 16MP which has an f/2.0 aperture. The front camera makes use of the screen flash in low light.
What is keeping the light on is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Other features of the device include a 5G network, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0. Sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Finally, it measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.5 mm and weighs 185 grams.
