We have been waiting a long time for the unveiling of the Tecno Phantom 10. The Phantom series from Tecno mobile is known to be flagships, this is the series where Tecno puts out their greatest effort in developing and providing the best mobile experience for its users. Last year, Tecno mobile launched the Phantom 9 and it became their best-selling phone in Africa. This year, we are anticipating Phantom 10 but it seems we are not going to see it this year.
Tecno Phantom 10 is going to be released in the first or second quarter of 2021, according to our close source. Our source told us that Tecno won’t be launching the Phantom 10 this year 2020, rather they will be anticipating the launch of Spark 6 and POVA in the fourth quarter of 2020 for the African market. The reason the launch of the Phantom 10 was delayed is probably that Covid-19 hit the global market.
Aside from that, speculations have it that the Phantom 10 will be coming with a plastic body and a gradient color finish similar to that of the Phantom 9. The display is going to be 6.8 inches in size which is huge for the Phantom class. It will also be an AMOLED display of-course but it seems we are not going to see an under-display fingerprint sensor like on the Phantom 9. Maybe Tecno will incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint scanner because that’s the trend now.
Coming to hardware specs, speculations pointed out that it will be coming with a MediaTek Helio G70 chipset, paired with 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. It will also have a USB Type-C port with support for 18W fast charging to juice up the battery. The Phantom 10 will actually come in two variants, the standard Phantom version, and the premier version.
The premier version will have a 5000mAh battery capacity while the base version will have a 4000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Both of them will have a 64MP as their primary camera, coupled with a 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, we are getting a 40MP pop-up camera with AI capability. You are advised to take these specs as a pinch of salt as the official specifications might be different.
Also, note that the Phantom 10 was expected to come in June this year but was delayed. As it will now debut next year, there is a huge possibility that the design and the specs will be changed entirely to suit the 2021 class of phones.
