Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is receiving its first ever firmware update ahead of the the shipping date. The Galaxy Buds 2 was announced in August 11 this month alongside the Z Flip 3 and the Z Fold 3 clamshell and foldable smartphones.
The earbuds is said to be shipped starting August 27 but the earbud is receiving firmware update even before the shipping date. If you happen to have pre-ordered this earbuds, you will be greeted with the update out of the box.
The firmware update carries 2.97MB size and uses the firmware version ‘R177XXU0AUH2’ in South Korea. It brings the ability to uses Ambient sound while answering phone calls. The Ambient mode can also be customised as well.
You can now set active noise cancellation for only one earbud instead of both. In the earbuds app, under the experimental Lab section, you can now double tap the edge of the earbuds for controls.
Overall, the update comes with minor bugs fixes and improvements. You can install the update once the device has been shipped to you.
Features of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2
The Buds 2 is succeeding the Galaxy Buds of last year. It comes with a glossy finish with silicon tips. The charging case has a dual-tone design with the inside of the case having the same paint job as the earbuds.
A dynamic 2-way speaker comes with each earbud and it is said to deliver crisp, clear high notes and bass. There is also an active noise cancellation feature that is said can cancel 98 per cent of background noise.
It features different levels of ambient sound. With machine learning and three mics, the earbuds are said to offer the best call experience possible.
The battery of the earbuds can power it for 5 hours with active noise cancellation on. With the case, battery life can be extended up to 15 hours.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 can be paired with the Buds App. You can also configure settings and install updates with the Galaxy Buds app.
As for pricing, the Galaxy Buds 2 is priced at $149.99 USD. It can be purchased starting August 27 like we said earlier. Colour options include White, Graphite, Olive and Lavender.
