It is reported that Samsung is aiming to launch a foldable laptop. The laptop is said to be called Galaxy Book Fold 17. The 17 in the name indicates that it will have a 17-inch display when it is unfolded. This is coming from a popular tipster Ice Universe and he said that it is already in the making.
He posted a screenshot of a webpage with the Galaxy Book Fold 17 name. It is likely that he got the name from a Samsung webpage which is not yet accessible to the public. The tipster didn’t share the specifications of the laptop, turns out it is not yet available to him.
Samsung seems to have fun making foldables and they are now taking it a notch higher by making a laptop that folds in and out. Recall that Samsung showcased a lot of foldables devices in may during the Society for Information Display 2021 (SID 2021).
They also showcased foldable laptop on Korea Display Industry Exhibition 2021. All the foldable laptop they showcased in that event has 17.3-inch screens with 4:3 aspect ratio. Samsung said that you can use it vertically like a tablet.
If it is folded in an ‘L’ shape, you have a 13-inch display facing you while the rest of the display are siting flat on a surface acting as an input with a large trackpad and touchscreen keyboard.
The concept device they showcased also has under-display camera. It is unclear if the Samsung Galaxy Book Fold 17 foldable laptop is real or not. If it is real, we expect to come across it in the future.
