Oppo has launched the Oppo K9 5G in China as promised. When the company announced the launch date for the K9 5G, they also listed the device on their official website which revealed most of its specifications. The smartphone was also spotted on JD.com and Tmall for pre-orders on Apr 21, 2021. It is good that the smartphone has finally unveiled today.
It will be succeeding the Oppo K7 5G of last year. While it is not the first in the “K” series to arrive with a 5G support, it is the first to come with a high refresh rate display. Oppo K9 5G also comes with an interesting feature that a lot of multitaskers would love. The device offers users with VC liquid-cooled heat sink, copper plate, and multi-layer thermal conductive graphite sheet for heat dissipation.
For price, the smartphone is priced at 1,999 Yuan (~$309) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version and 2,199 Yuan (~$339) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It comes in two colours like Spades K (black) and Wings of Symphony (blue gradient).
Oppo K9 5G Specifications and features
The K9 5G comes with a rectangular camera module at the rear which houses quad-camera sensors. On the front, it has a punch-hole cut-out housing the selfie camera. The display of the smartphone is a 6.43inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.
Under the hood, it is fuelled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G SoC. The chipset uses an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz and it is a 7nm chipset. Graphics or gaming is handled by the capable Adreno 620 GPU.
The K9 5G is running on the Android 11 operating system. It comes in 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM. There is no micro SD card slot for storage expansion. Going to the rear, the smartphone is boasting of a quad camera. The main sensor is 64MP, there is an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro.
Oppo K9 5G also has a single led flash at the rear and it can record in 2k@30fps maximum. Upfront, the device has a single camera. The sensor is 32MP which has an f/1.8 aperture. The front camera makes use of the screen flash in low light.
What is keeping the light on is a 4,300mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. There is an under-display fingerprint scanner for security. Other features of the device include a 5G network, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
