ColorOS 12 will be announced on September 16. Ahead of the announcement, a OnePlus official on Weibo has revealed that OnePlus will be sharing its ColorOS adaptation plan in that event.
It doesn’t come as a surprise because earlier this year, OnePlus merged with Oppo and revealed that they will be sharing features with oppo henceforth and one of them is Custom UI. OnePlus also said that some of its phones will be rebadged as Oppo phones in some regions.
Going forward, OnePlus phones in China will be running on the ColorOS user interface. The company said that its global version phones will keep running on HydrogenOS. In August, the CEO of the company revealed that the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and the 8T in China will be adapting to the ColorOS UI next year.
The ColorOS 12 that will be announced on September 16 has a “Da Vinci” code name. It is based on Android 12 and can be used on Smartwatches and Tablets. The OS is said to bring some features already available on MIUI from Xiaomi, Flyme from Meizu, Smartisan OS, and HydrogenOS.
