OnePlus 9 RT has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) which means the phone will be launched in India very soon. The price and specifications of the smartphone was revealed earlier and it is said to come as the improved version of the OnePlus 9R announced this year.
The BIS certification of the OnePlus 9 RT only revealed its model number which is MT2111. Although this is not the model number associated with the OnePlus 9 RT, we said it is OnePlus 9 RT because it is the only device we are expecting from OnePlus this year. If this model number belongs to another OnePlus phone that will be announced this year, then we shall know when the time is due. As for now, let’s assume it is OnePlus 9 RT.
Specifications of OnePlus 9 RT
The OnePlus 9 RT is tipped to come with a 6.55-inch E3 AMOLED 120Hz display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.
It will feature an under-display fingerprint scanner with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It will have an aluminium alloy frame and Gorilla Glass at the rear.
Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset present in the 9R that has an Octa-core (1×3.2 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 585) processor.
The phone will run on Android 12 with OxygenOS 12 skin. It will come in three storage configurations such as 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM, 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM, and 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM.
The RAM type is LPDDR4X and the ROM uses UFS 3.1. There is no mention of a micro SD card slot but it won’t have it probably.
At the rear of the smartphone, instead of the quad-camera, we experienced on the OnePlus 9R, we are getting a triple camera at the rear of the OnePlus 9 RT. The main sensor is 50-megapixel Sony IMX766, there is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel B&W sensor.
On the front, it will have the same 16-megapixel selfie camera as the OnePlus 9R. It may be tucked in a punch-hole cut-out as well.
What is keeping the light on is a 4500mAh battery capacity that supports 65W fast charging. Other features include NFC, Dual stereo speaker setup, and X-axis vibration motor.
There is no official information on the release date of the OnePlus 9 RT yet. The 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant of the OnePlus 9 RT will be priced at CNY 2,999 ($463). The 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM will be priced at CNY 3,299 ($509). It is speculated that the device may go official in October.
