Tipster Mukul Sharma has discovered an unannounced OnePlus phone with model number NE2210 on the IMEI database recently (via). The entry doesn’t include any other information about the device, not even a name. But the tipster speculates that it could be a new model in the Nord lineup.
The “22” in the model number suggests that it to be a phone for 2022 though. So there’s a possibility that what we are seeing is not a Nord phone but one of the OnePlus 10 series models. If you remember, the OnePlus 9 has the model number LE2110 (codename Lemonade). OnePlus reportedly has no plans to launch a OnePlus 9T or 9T Pro this year. SO the OnePlus 10 series will be its next flagship.
The “NE” at the front of the newly discovered model number could be part of the device’s codename. So things should get a lot clearer once we know the codenames of the next-gen OnePlus devices.
Not long ago, OnePlus only launched a handful of smartphones in a year. But ever since it entered the mid-range and budget segment with the Nord lineup last year, things have changed drastically. We now see the company launching new phones now and then. Between March to July this year, OnePlus launched six new smartphone models — OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 9R, Nord CE, Nord N200, and Nord 2. There’s one more in the works now as a new IMEI database entry has revealed.
