The US ban on Huawei really impacted the company very badly. All the phones that Huawei is releasing now don’t come with Google services. Huawei phone business is sinking day by day. A recent stats composed shows that Huawei is currently in the 4th position in the mobile industry. Regardless, they are still trying to release another smartphone in the third quarter of the year.

The smartphone will be the Huawei P50 and the P50 Pro. Renders of the smartphone have even appeared which shows a strange camera module. The renders of the smartphone posted recently shows that it will come with a thin bezel and a punch-hole display at the centre of the display.

Looking at the rear, we can see a huge oval-shaped camera module that houses two inner circles at the top and button of the oval-shaped module. The led flash is placed outside the module. This means that the Huawei P50 series will come with quad rear cameras.

Speculations are saying that the P50 series will be powered by the Hisilicon Kirin 9000 chipset. They will also use a Sony IMX800 image sensor with a 1-inch optical format. The P50 Pro and Pro + is said to use a liquid lens.

About Sony IMX800 sensor

Sony IMX800 sensor is going to be a very powerful sensor. The report said that it will surpass Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2 1 / 1.12-inch mobile camera sensor. Since Samsung launched the ISOCELL GN2 1/1.12 sensor, it has become the largest mobile image sensor on the market. Sony IMX800 surpassing it means that it is indeed powerful.

The Huawei P50 series being camera-centric devices, they will use this Sony IMX800 sensor. Everybody knows that the Huawei P series are camera-centric devices. Recall the P40 series from last year which comes with a very powerful zoom camera capability which even surpassed the like of Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max then. It will be interesting to see what Huawei will bring to the table this year.
